Social media is a two-way conversation, and communication skills have become more important than ever. But, more important than communication skills – empathy. Because empathy will drive one’s ability to communicate effectively.

This is the first time, ever, that people have the power to communicate, to groups of people, anonymously. When shrouded behind a screen, people think, communicate, and act differently than in-person, or on the phone.

I always try to picture the person I’m typing a reply to, so my message is clear, considerate, and personalized to them.
