Made in China
Since as long as I can remember, my households goods, electronics, and toys were stamped “Made in China”. Who didn’t have a huge collection of Matchbox cars in the ’80’s?
But China has more to offer than manufacturing. Variety recently published an article entitled, China is poised to overtake Silicon Valley in tech innovations.
“My American colleagues are living in a bubble thinking that Silicon Valley is leading, but in many sectors they are completely wrong,” said Edith Yeung, partner at investment firm 500 Startups.
Out of the five world leaders in gross marketplace value, Chinese tech platforms own three. Alibaba leads the top two spots, with JD .com at number five. Amazon ranks at number three, and eBay at four.
Will software soon be stamped “Made in China”?
